Dummy Email for Forwarding

my user get forwarding email from trusted domain in exchange 2013.

my user : user@domainA.com

account from trusted domain : user@domainB.com

when I asked to IT guy in domainB, the email doesn't exist

if its not originating from domainB, then it may be spam email. you can confirm this from the internet header of the email. Check the originating server/IP from internet header to confirm this. or you can track the particular email and check whether its getting generated from outside or inside the network.

Is there any contents in email?

Did the email come from the specific user which is domain B?

We could check Inbox rule on mailbox which come from domain B, which those Inbox rule on domain B mailbox forward email to the specific user on domain A.

Inbox rule will be introduced in outlook and Exchange server, we could check Inbox rule outlook, and check Inbox rule on Exchange server by the following command:

Get-InboxRule Mailbox <mailbox address>

We could also check if there are any transport rule on domain B to forward email to domain A.

In this case, share the header information to domainB admin and ask him to check from their end to confirm.

many thanks , Jim, it's show there is rule to domainB,so i make sure to their administrator that user@domainB.com exist. And yes,our user have forwarding email from domainB,which is it's Mail Contact to use Distribution List on their Exchange.
