Dropped name of the attachments to only the first character.
Hi All, in my Exchange 2003 environment something strange happen. The file name of the attachments receveid from another company (Exchange 2003) are truncated to only the first character. For example, if I have to receive a file name "Readme.txt", I receive "R". The file are not corrupted, opening the file manually all it's OK. Tried to send attachments from Outlook and from OWA. The problem persist. Any ideas?

Hi, Does the problem happen in both Outlook and OWA? Are you using Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE)?

Hi Thomas, yes both from Outlook and OWA. We don't use FOPE (we are the receiver), I'm asking the same information to the sender. I'll let you know. If they use FOPE what do you thing is the problem? Thanks for your reply.

Is there just one domain that you've experience this issue with or more? Is there any specific attachment type or all the attachment types exhibit the same issue? Have them send the email with an attachment to your domain email address and private(like yahoo, hotmail etc) to see if the problem is just with your domain receiving or other domains too? Hi Pushkal, it seems that the problem is only with our domain. No specific attachment type. It happen with .doc, .xls, .pdf etc. Sending mail to a private mail (I tested gmail) it seems to work correctly). We don't have this kind of problem with any other domain. Thanks for you reply

Were you ever able to find a resolution to this? I am having the same problem, but in this case we are the sending organization and the receivers are getting the mail as you described. We are also using McAfee AntiSpam (IronMail)
