Downgrade Exchange 2007 Enterprise to Standard
We have 2 HUB/CAS servers in our environment. One was accidentally installed with enterprise and needs to be downgraded to standard due to MSFT true up. Is my only option to uninstall and then reinstall? What about rebuilding the OS and performing setup with the /recoverserver switch. Or does the license remain enterprise with in the Schema? Any thoughts or potential guidance on the reinstall would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance, M

Yes, a reinstall is in order. I think you could do the recoverserver thing as well, however I dont think that is necessarily easier. Are their customized settings you are worried you will lose?

Good question. I just thought it would be easier to DR it but now that I think about it a reinstall maybe be the easiest. I dont have any custom settings other than OWA time out and multiple receive connectors. Avoiding the os rebuild would save time and possible hardware issues (drivers). Thanks for the input
