Double quotes in Outlook

Hello,

Whenever I write an e-mail in Outlook 2010 and I enter a " , it automatically gives me "" (open and closing quote with the cursor on the right side of the closing quote, so I have to go left before I can start typing in between the quotes).

Outlook is the only application having this behaviour (in Word, Notepad, etc. I get only one quote after typing the first character).

We have US International Standard keyboard layout.

All users using this specific computer have the same issue on this machine.

Does somebody have a clue what could be causing this?

Thanks!

Hi,

Are you creating new email messages using a custom template? If so, please switch to the default email template and then test the issue again.

Do you have any third-party add-in installed in Outlook?

As far as I know, Outlook doesn't have a build-in feature to automatically add closing quote as typing an open quote. Please try start Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue continues. To open Outlook in safe mode, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter.

If the problem would be gone in safe mode, it means this issue may be caused by an add-in in Outlook. We can go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-ins to resolve the issue.

Please let me know the result.

Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, this doesn't solve our problem...

It must be a computer setting somehow, as all users working on that specific machine have the issue, but they don't have it when they log on onto another machine (we use roaming profile).
