Double Booking calendars

Hi All,

Running Exchange 2013 SP1.

So we have a bunch of users who share out their calendars and this allows others to make appointments in those calendars.  The only problem is that we are encountering lots of double bookings.  Does anyone have a solution for this or a better of making appointments in peoples calendars?

Thanks.

Hi,

Basis on your post, I notice that you want to prevent duplicate calendar item when share calendar with modify permission.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Please run below command to double check the setting for this user calendar:
Get-CalendarProcessing -Identity <mailbox identity> | FL Identity,*conflicts*
If the value of AllowConflicts is true, please change it to false.

If book process happening in same time, it maybe cause duplicate calendar item. Heres an article about How to troubleshoot missing and duplicate appointments in Outlook:

Besides, I recommend change the delegate permission to prevent other one create duplicate calendar. For your reference:

Thanks

Hi,

Ed, no mobile devices but lots of people managing other peoples calendars.

Allen, When I run the command I get this for every user:

AllowConflicts : False

So that is the desired setting.

The two links that you sent me are ancient and unfortunately dont offer anything.  The second post about delegates says if you want to grant someone access to your calendars not to use delegate but use permissions, that is what we are doing.

Anything else??

What I am going to do is just remove their caching in outlook, that should fix things.

Just thought their might be a better solution.

Thanks

That should help, but calendaring really isn't designed for lots of people changing calendars.  Narrowing it down to primarily one writer will help even more.
