Is it possible to just buy a license to use 365, instead of renting by the month? Also, I hope you (Microsoft) don't expect me to store my documents in the cloud. They're my documents; I prefer to have them on my computer.

As far as I know, Office 365 has no license/Product key method to activate. If you do not want to use OneDrive that store your documents in the cloud. I recommend you purchase the Office 2013 retail version, such as office 2013 home and business.
