Domain issue
Hi, I have an exchange 2003 server handling emails for a few domains. I recently moved one of the domains to an entirelyseparate exchange machine at an entirely different site. Ideleted the users from AD and removed the domain from recipient policies. However, when users at the old site try to email someone at the domain that was moved, they get a bouce back saying that the email address does not exist at the organization.......Is there somewhere else that I need to remove any reference of that domain or is it coming from the outlook cache? The email address does not exist there anymore, true, but it should then locate the new exchange server, correct? What am I missing? If i send from OWA it goes fine. Any suggestions? Do I have to do anything with IIS? The users still show up in the global address list after they have been deleted. Do i need to force an update there? Thanks

I had this issue as well and I had to delete the outlook.nk2 file where it caches there email addresses. Once that was done everything was fine.

If your users still have contacts in there outlook clients, these could be pointing to the wrong server. Whiltst they appear to be the right email address, they dont actually point to that, but resolve to the x500 address of the contact, which will still be pointing to the old server. Get users to clear out any (internal) contacts they have in outlook.

Thanks Jay. I deleted the file and it appears to have resolved the issue. I'll test additional PCs and advise if there is still a problemas I've only been able to test one so far. Once again, thanks. Thank you also Sam.
