Domain admin, can it not be a local admin?
I'm a domain admin on our network, so whenever I log into a machine on the network using my credentials I assume admin rights on that machine.I'm a nix user by night, so I'm used to using my computer as a normal user and elevating myself when I need to do an admin related task. It would be nice if I could carry this over to the Windows world.I'd like to keep my current setup, however I would like to not be an admin just on my desktop. If I need to install some software or some other admin such activity I can just login as the local admin or do a 'Run As'. This would help protect my day-to-day activities from possible virus attacks. Is this possible? Thanks.

Dear customer: Please understand that our forum discuss Exchange-related issue, since your issue is related to Windows Server, please post your issue into the following forum: Microsoft TechNet > Forums Home > Windows Server > General http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/threads/ In addition, I also would like provide some information for your reference: By default, Domain Admins group is added into local administrators group when the client join into the domain. That is by design. However you can remove Domain Admins group from local admin group later. When you remove Domain Admins group, you dont have previous privileges that Domain Admins group has. Hope it helps.Rock Wang MSFT
