Does anyone know how to resolve Exchange 2007 store.exe using allot of memory on servers?
Is there a resolution for controlling the amount of memory usage within Exchange 2007 for the store.exe. We have 6 gigs of physical ram on the server and configured another 20 gigs of virual memory. Store.exe still is using all of the physical memory. Any suggestions?Darrin Wittson

Hi there,Exchange Server 2007 is designed to use lots of ram for the store.exe. It caches mailbox data and is _one_ of the reasons disk IO is greatly reduced. Please ensure you have sized your Exchange Servers ram correctly. Please see here for sizing and calculating:"Planning memory configurations" http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738124(EXCHG.80).aspxOliverOliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |

You can control the memory usage but it’s not recommended Please refer to the posts in this threadJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

I would recommend against controlling memory usage and just sizing the Exchange Server correctly. Ram is cheap in today marketplace. OliverOliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |
