Does Excel (2007) Problem Solver exclude hidden rows and discontinuous but not-hidden ranges?

I'm trying to find out which cells add to a particular value so I'm looking to use ProblemSolver for this. (Excel 2007 on W7Pro.)

If some of the rows are hidden, are the hidden rows ignored for the matches?

Does ProblemSolver cover non-contiguous non-hidden rows (ranges), meaning if the some of the data under consideration is in row 3-5 and some in 11-16 and more in 23-30 will only the desired cells in those rows be considered for the match?

In my case I have hidden and also non-contiguous rows that should not be considered to match the total.

Finally, I see ProblemSolver in Excel 2011 on my Mac but does it work the same on OSX as it should on Windows?

Hi PAReinie,

Not sure how Problem Solver works, but  =MATCH(<value to match>,<Range>,0) takes the range as the input G1:G100 and Excel does search all cells including the hidden ones.
