Does Auto-archive work every day even if user doesn't sign onto OL2003 client?
An Exchange user turns on auto-archive for Every Day. Deleted Items and Sent Items are for 2 Months and are permanently deleted. If the user is off for a month, during every day of that month are the two folders cleaned up (auto-aged out) by Exchange? This is important since we have some generic Exchange IDs that are not signed onto by a user, but Rules auto-manage the emails coming into them placing them into folders and then auto-archive cleans them out viapermanent deletion. Bottom-line: Is the archive process executed in the background without the Exchange user logged onto the Outlook client?

Do you have some recipient policies configured that cleanup the mailbox with Mailbox Manager? http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;288115 And this article Configuring Mailbox Manager Settings (somewhere in the middle of the page) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124314.aspx Deli

Deli, I read the articles. We have nothing special that shuts down archive. Like I asked... if I set archive from on PC client for certain folders, does the archive happen daily in the background when the client is NOT active or does the client have to be active for archive to occur?

The archive you are referring to is not related to the server activities that Deli posted. The answer to your question is No. Outlook runs this archive process and it will only work if Outlook is running.
