Do i need the Edge server with a new deployment??
I feel kind like an idiot asking this, but I can not find a defnitive answer really. I am going to give a proposal for Exchange 2007 and want to make sure I have enough servers in my budget. Is the Edge really NEEDED?? thanks

The Edge Server role is a perimeter solution for routing SMTP mail to and from the Internet, handling SPAM, viruses, etc. If you already have a solution for this then, no, you won't need the Edge Server.
