Do I need to update to Exchange 2003 ADC?
I have a Windows 2000 Server (non-DC) with Exchange 2000 on it. Our main DC is a separate server running Win2k Advanced Server. I want to introduce a third server running Windows Server 2003 so I need to update AD using the ADPrep tool from the Windows 2003 disc on our main Win2k DC. But the more I read up on doing this the more nervous I get about it. This KB article says I need to update the Exchange 2000 ADC to the Exchange 2003 version of the ADC. I currently have no plan to introduce a new version of Exchange. Do I need to do this? If so, is there any way to update the ADC to the Exchange 2003 version without buying Exchange 2003?

ADC (Active Directory Connector) is only used if you have mix of Exchange 5.5 and Exhchange 2000/2003
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now
