Do I need to re-create settings in Exchange 2013 before removing Exchange 2010?

I am approaching the tail-end of a 2010 to 2013 migration and preparing to uninstall Exchange 2010. I have settings and policies under send/receive connectors, accepted domains and rules that were created in Exchange 2010.

Do I need to re-create these in 2013 or perhaps upgrade them before removing Exchange 2010, and if so, how?

I have 4 Accepted Domains. 2 were created in Exchange 2010 and 2 were created in Exchange 2013. I tried to remove the 2 created in 2010 but they are part of our Address Book Policy:

- "Can't remove the domain 'xyz.com' because it's referenced in an email address policy by the proxy address template 'smtp:@xyz.com'."

Is it safe to remove xyz.com from the address policy then re-create it after I have updated Accepted Domains?

Hi,

Remove xyz.com from the address policy and then recreate it after you have updated accepted domains. The above should be an available method in your case. If you don't remove xyz.com from the address policy, I am afraid that you can't remove it from accepted domains.

Hope this can be helpful to you.
