Distribution list for external contact

Hi.

We have a common users that several users have added as an additional mailbox in their Outlook.

This user have a contact list of around 450 contacts. This has worked for a while, but now they get the following error when trying to look at the list: "This contact group has been edited with a newer version of outlook or contains too many members"

It has not been opened in Newer version of Outlook. All users have Outlook 2010 (exchange server 2013).

I recreated the whole list in December because of the same error message. Worked fine until today.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi,

Please confirm the following scenarios to narrow down the issue:

1.  Confirm if this contact list is a custom contacts created by the shared mailbox which is added as additional mailbox for other users.

2. Please check whether the contact list created by this common user can be opened in this default mailbox correctly instead of opening it as shared contact list in additional mailbox.

3. Open this contact list in OWA and check whether the issue persists.

Thanks for your reply.

1. This is correct. I have logged on to that perticular shared mailbox,  created a new contact group from OWA. The users are given "Full access", "Send as" and "Send on behalf" to this account. It has worked fine since December.

2. Same error occures when logging in to the user who is sharing the contacts.

3. Same issue in OWA

Istead of sharing the contact through a user. We started using the public folder.

This seems to work fine.
