Distribution List.....
Hi, Actually one of our department wants that Distribution List created for there department can be used to send mails also i.e they want to configure outlook for that group and mail shoot from this mailbox contains from address of that particular group..... As per my knowledge its not possible but I just want to cross check is there any way out there to achieve this, or any alternate proper way to achieve this. We are using exchange 2007 server. Thanks.

What i understood from your query is, when Someone send mail from that department, it should appear that the mail is sent from the DL. Correct me if I am wrong here. If so, it is very much possible if the users in that department are given "Send As" or "Send on Bahalf" permission on the DL. Please refer a post here . Once rights are given, User just need to select the DL address in FROM field while writing a mail. FROM field is by default not visible. you have to select "Show From" in Options while composing mail. Hope this helps. Thanks.
