Disconnected (Exchange account)
Hello,I have a problem.I'm using Outlook 2003 and 2007 with an Exchange account. Randomly I get "Disconnected" and the only way to turn on the service is rebooting the "Microsoft Exchange - Storage Information" windows service.I made a ping between the pc and the server, and it gets right.How can I solve this disconnections? Thanks.

Is the Information Store service actually stopped when this happens, or are you restarting the running service? If the service is still running, are the databases stillmounted? Do all users become disconnected, or just one or a few? Unless this is affecting all users, I wouldn't jump to restart the IS service. You can troubleshoot this from the Outlook side by pressing Control and right-clicking on the Outlook icon by the clock. This will give you additional right-click options. Are there related errors or warnings in the exchange server's application log?Also, can you try the "test connectivity" applet i mentioned and post back what it reports?Also, please report your version of Exchange and Service pack level.Are the Outlook clients patched as well?
