Disable Exchange Server Intergration on Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2

Hi There

I have a Essentials 2012 R2 that is running a Hyper-V box with Exchange Server 2013. The previous version of the Exchange Server 2013 did not work and became unusable. So my question is, is there a command to disable this or a way to find the new ExchangeManagementAccount as this is the only value of three that the server seems to store to intergrade. At HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mircosoft\Windows Server\Productivity\OPEIntegration\Configuration

Thanks

Hi,

According to your description, I want to double confirm whether you want to remove current Exchange server or remove previous Exchange.

Whats the meaning for ExchangeManagementAccount? Exchange server will expand AD schema and domain when it install in AD, for example relevant objects, attributes and role groups. More details about The changes in Active Directory when Exchange 2013 is installed, for your reference: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn750898(v=exchg.150).aspx

For your question, please run Get-ExchangeServer to get detail information, and if you want to remove Exchange server, please open Control Panel (Programs and Features) to uninstall Exchange.
Before you go to remove Exchange Server 2013, please check you have did the following things:
1. All the Exchange Server related console have been closed.
2. Mailbox database on the server has been removed.

Thanks

Hi Allen

To answer your first question yes it is a previous installation of Exchange Server 2013 which no longer exists.

I also do not want to uninstall the current working Exchange Server, I want to disable the integration in Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials with previous version. In Essentials it shows under the dashboard/Services a tab that is called "Integrate your Exchange Server", which is currently Enabled.

When I attempt to disable using the menu option, it fails with:

An Unknown error occurred.

Make sure that the computer is connected to the network, and then try again.

If you continue to experience this problem, restart the server and then try again.

Hi There

I Found the answer is you have to delete the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mircosoft\Windows Server\Productivity

When you do it will have a green tick and the word "disabled"
