Disable Attachment Filtering
Microsoft has decided upon my install of exchange 2007 that our clients no longer can send us email with attachments with jpg, bmp, etc type of image files showing freight damage, thusly harming our core business. I don't know how many other decisions that they made for me, but I need to find out how to stop them all asap. What is bad is it isn't even easy to do. I have stopped everything I can find in theexchange management console, and my email is still coming in from customers without attachments. Evidently I have to go back and relearn dos to use some command shell so I can get this stopped. I can start this DOS command shell or whatever this ignorant, non-user friendly thing is, but I can't find the parameters. It wants me to "get" something, can I just "stop" something? Evidently it wants an "identitiy". Is that me? It isn't my server name. Is it a maiden name? How do you find it? Please help.

Edge server is the only Exchange role that can filter for attachments Disable the attachmentfiltering agent on your edge server. If I recall correct 'Set-AttachmentFilteringConfig -EnabledFalse'
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

exchange 2007 doesnt block .jpg type of files. it blocks .vbs and others. what other filters do you have in place? in the powershell type get-AttachmentFilterListConfig to verify the extensions that are blocked. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123697.aspx
