Directory structure / shares
I'm getting ready to build a Windows 2008 R2 server. In the past when creating User ID's we would select to map a home directory to the F drive as well. Instead of doing this, what would be the best way, both design and security wise. A couple thoughts have crossed my mind: 1. Create individual shares for each user home directory giving only them rights to that directory unless otherwise notified 2. Is their a way to setup a GPO to map a drive to their home directory without seeing all other home directories that would fall under a parent directory named home. Example: Manually create a home directory for john.doe. Create a GPO to map f drive to john.doe home directory without seeing all other home directories
