Directory = Global Catalog/DC. I would start there and see if your GCs are having any issues.

Couple of questions for you - Is this a new issue - ie. was it working before. Also - If this is happening and you are not sure of where to start this is what I would do. #1 - Call Microsoft - Cut a ticket with them. If you fix it before they call you back it is free. #2 - I would check my performance baseline on the Exchange / AD Servers they connect to. What is different. --- If this doesn't show anything - Check you event logs / and turn up diagnostic logging levels on your exchange Server / Also you can turn on logging on the outlook client. #3 - Is you Exchange Farm Virtualized? If yes - Is someone V-Motioning VM's while this is occuring? I have seen a big performance hit on my virtual infrastructure before on major VM Move operations. Someone might also be migrating your VM's. #4 - Run a NetMon trace of the environment - See if something is failing -- Often times the application stack won't show us exactly what is happening. With all of the above I am normally able to resolve these trick performance issues. Hi, You should check the connectivity of the GC, confirm the 2080 event is received in the Event Log. Thanks Allen
