Difference between downloadable Exchange versions...
Hello: I have tried to download Exchange 2007 (Std) with SP1 from MS's volume licensing site. It has been a pain in the neck process as the download stops midway (did it so many times that I lost count!). Anyways, I ended up downloading the trail version (from MS Exchange site) and installed that. I did use our regular license nuber and everything worked fine. My question is 1) Does anyone know why the download on volume licensing is close to 5 Gigs and the trial version is close to 1 gig only. 2) Should I worry about the trial version stopping after 60 days! ( I don't think it will as the license number was accepted without any issue) but just want to make sure. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.GN

Hello, 1. DVD contains ~4.5GB ofvarious language packs of Unified Messaging role. 2. If you have entered the correct/valid product key then it shouldn't show edition = unlicensed and should show the correct edition (standard/enterprise) when you run Get-ExchangeServer "ServerName" command. Sodon't worry about the expiration if it shows edition Additionally, you can read below article for further details about editions and versions of Exchange 2007. Thanks Amit! The huge size difference between the two download sites had me confused and unfortunately there is no documentation on the Volume Licensing site. I am aware of the versions though but many thanks for clarifying the difference and also for allaying my fears of an expired edition after 60 days! Thanks again!
