Difference between Email Policy on Hub Transport and RUS
Hi GuysI am looking for the difference between the Email Policy you can set on the Hub Transport (2007)and RUS (2003), but can't seem to find much. Is the Email Policy effectively the replacement for RUS?So, I can set a Email Policy to run, say, every hour, and this will create email address as I would like them to be created?

Hey Sheen, Say good bye to RUS if you are using Exchange 2007 users and email address policy because in Exchange 2007 whenever you create user or new email address policy it applies immediately and no need to wait as we were in Exchange 2003 for RUS to touch the new objects and apply the email addresses as per policy. Good bye RUS http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/02/429053.aspx Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi Amit,Thanks...so effectively, this is RUS that applies immediately? What if I have the email address policy set to apply immediately, but then change the email address manually? Will Exchange 2007 change it back again to match the email address policy? And is the email address policy setting per Hub Transport server, or set globally?Thank you

Did you try editing or changing email address manually eventhough checkbox is selected to apply based on policy? It gives you an error, EMC is EAP aware since RUS is not available in Exchange 2007 :) ERROR: "The e-mail addresses for this recipient are automatically generated based on e-mail address policies. To modify the primary SMTP address for this recipient, you must disable automatic updating of e-mail address based on e-mail address policy" The things come under Organizational Configuration, are global. So EAPs is global :) Hope things are clear, please let me know in case you still have doubt... Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
