Deploying Office 2013 Std. & Removal of Office 2010 Std. corporate environment

Dear Experts,

We recently purchased volume license of Office 2013 Std. for our corporate environment. Previously we already have Office 2010 Std.

Please note the new and old version we have are both standard editions. Now I am looking for most appropriate method for deploying 2013 and for sure visiting each user and his machine is not an option as we have 100 users and 145 devices because some IT professional staff have two devices Laptop / Desktop.

When doing search for deployment I found some people saying OCT will not remove office 2010 completely and other feedback etc. Still unable to find right way, can any expert please share your such experience and how you planned this. You did it using a log on script or startup script, any instructions for users before pushing deployment to close their office programs.

Please help. Appreciate...

Regards,

Hi, the MSFT documentation suggests not to rely upon the setup.exe of the new Office to perform removal of old Office.

I believe this is because lots of customers might have improperly deployed/serviced the old Office, so removal of old Office might not be easily automated by setup.exe

In our experience, we deployed Office2007Professional included in our Windows7 build, then later, we deployed Office2010ProfessionalPlus to 5000 machines, and this successfully removed Office2007 and installed Office2010 in 95% of cases.

We have also deployed Office2013ProfessionalPlus to 1000 machines and this successfully removed Office2007/Office2010 in 95% of cases.

Our method is simply to use the setup.exe, we don't do any other steps.
Our machines are all setup for English-only, we don't have any Language components (LP or LIP) to worry about.

We have found, sometimes (5%) there is something wrong with the old Office on some machines, but nobody ever knew that. In those cases, we remotely control the PCs and uninstall old Office using Programs & Features, or, OFFSCRUB (MSFT Office removal F
