Hello,
We have just finished a rollout of Windows 7 and Office 2010 at our firm. Since the rollout has started we have had to update our normal.dotm file, blank.potx, and our default Outlook PRF file. I have already pushed out the new default PRF file through another means since that file is just located in the install directory. But, I still need to update the normal.dotm and blank.potx file on every workstation. I wanted to do this through the OCT tool by deploying our updated msp file. I have a tough time with this because our OCT msp file was originally setup to import a default PRF file to use for Outlook. Everytime the OCT msp it ran any added mailboxes that the user added to their Outlook are gone after running the OCT msp. This makes it a no go to push this out to every workstation since we have a ton of users that have added mailbox's since we are a law firm.
Below are screenshots of some of the config in OCT (can't post them until I get verified - if somebody wants to see them before that please let me know - they won't let me post links or pictures until they verify me). I have found out that you have to add files that you want to update to the remove section as well as the add section in order for it to remove the old files that exist. I found it weird that in order to get the OCT msp to replace the default PRF I also had to add it to the add and remove section and this wasn't done by the Outlook Profile configuration section (since that section is configured to use our default PRF that is on a server share). I guess it only imports that PRF file from the server shared as configured in the Outlook Profile section the first time the OCT msp is ran.
Long story short I basically just want to apply our newly updated OCT msp without it wiping out the current users Outlook added mailboxes. Is this possible or is there another way that I can update these files for all users on all our workstations since they were added to the workstation through the OCT msp originally?
