Deploying Exchange 2007 in a new domain.
Here's the problem. I work for company ABC with exchange already deployed for the abc.com domain. The bosses want another exchange server setup that is not part of the abc.com domain but want some abc employees to use this exchange server only. So do i have to create another domain on the windows server where exchange 2007 will reside? If so, I assume I will have to build a trust between abc and xyz or would it be better to make xyz a child domain?

If the new Exchange server is not part of your current Exchange organization then you must create a new Forest for the new Exchange organization.

Hi, if you need to have another email domain for your other abc users to use instead of abc.com, then you can create a new email domain hosted in your exchange server for these users, for example you can have another email domain called xyz.com for these users, and this can be only used by these users, if you want another email domain for them only. but if you want a totally seperate exchange organization to be created for these users and another exchange server, then as lasse mentioned, then you need to create a totally new AD forest for them, this due to the fact that a single Active Directorysupports ONLY single (one)Exchange Organization per its forest. i hope that the other email domain helped you in solving or sorting out your issue. please let me know if you need more help in creating a new Email domain under your current exchange organization.
