Delivery Report for multiple recipients.

Hello all,

An issue i am facing with a brand new exchange 2013 install with CU8 is as follows.

I create an email message and address it to multiple recipients both internal and external, i then send the message.

When i go to Delivery reports and view it, the internal recipients all show delivered. External recipient shows as Pending HOWEVER it was SUCCESSFULLY delivered to the external address.  The report does not seem to update and show that it was delivered though. This has happened on every email sent that contains both internal and external addresses.  If an email is sent with ONLY external addresses in the TO field, then it shows as delivered, this issue only occurs when there are both internal and external addresses.

Here is a screenshot of the report, the external gmail address used in the test was mine, and i don't care if anyone knows it.

Hi tbswen,

Thank you for your question.

By your state, we could do the following testing:

  1.        Send two emails with internal address and external address to check if they are both pending in queue or just pending latest one.
  2.        Check if there are any errors when email was pending in queue(in fact, it has delivered).
  3.        Check EMS if it is pending status
  4.        If those pending status will be stay there all the times

We could restart to service of Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology, Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Delivery and Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Submission to check if the issue persist.

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Hi tbswen,

We could refer to the following steps:

  1.        Send the first test email which is included internal address and external address
  2.        Send the second test email which is included internal address and external address
  3.        Then we could check queue if there are both queued or just queued the second email
  4.        Please tell us result

Then we want to know if the pending queue will be disappeared or need to remove manually.

We could use the different sender to check if the issue persist.

Then you can send email header information to ibsexc@microsoft.com for our troubleshooting. The email header information is which email could be sent with internal address and external address.

We want to see the result in EMS by the following command:

Get-Queue

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
