Deliver the message to mailbox at every hour
We have Exchange 2003 Enterprise SP2 with up to date patches. A user complained that an e-mail from specific sender (from outside, not from our organization) who sent via mailing list was delivered at every hour in her mailbox. However, others from same sender were delivered without problem. When I checked through Message Tracking Center, it is true that e-mail was delivered several times to her mailbox. Sender said he received only once as sender was member of the mailing list. He didn't receive any complaint from other list members also.Besides, according to "message tracking center" of Exchange, same message ID was delivered to her mailbox several times. It has never happened before. Restarting Exchange did not help me. However, it stopped at some point. Does anyone know the reason that why it happened? Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestions. Since the behavior have stopped already, it is not possible to troubleshoot now though I like to know the reason. On the other hand, if it is because of rules setup in receivers Outlook, I think, different message ID should be delivered at different intervals, i.e. randomly. However, the same message ID had been delivered at every hour according to Message Tracking Center. Kyi

Hi Kyi,Please checkyour SMTP log to confirm if thesender's server (or your anti-spam server in front of Exchange) delivered the mail to your server again and again. I suggest you read the similar thread below to troubleshoot the issue:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/a0632932-5438-4173-b694-cd551f8e2216/Thanks,Elvis

Unfortunately, our SMTP log is set to default and it doesnt have enough information in the past. Of course, I have increased the SMTP options to get max information on few days ago. We are using MXLogic as our email defense service and they keeps their SMTP log for just 5 days. So, I cant ask to them. According to article you gave me, it could be problem with MXLogic. Kyi
