Deleting the First Storage Group and DB - Exch2007
I want to delete the First Storage Group and DB (the one that's there by default) from my Exchange server. I've been searching around for the correct procedure, and I've found some tidbits on moving the System Attendenent mailbox, but the articles all refer to Exch2003. Does this apply to 2007 also? I'm thinking not, because I don'e see an SA mailbox on in that mailstore. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3597365&SiteID=17ThanksChad

Hi,
There should be no problems deleting the first storage group. Just move all mailboxes and then remove the database / SG.

Hello Chad,
I agree with Leif,it should not beany problem deleting First Storage Group & DB. Just move all the mailboxes and remove those.
System Attendant mailbox will be moved automatically to another available database ofserver, this is normal behavior in Exchange 2007.

Hi Chad,
Actually, in Exchange 2003, if the store is then deleted, the System Attendant mailbox will be moved automatically into another mailbox store on the server (ie the HomeMDB value on the directory object will be updated).
