Deleting Content Not Working Using Export Mailbox cmdlet
Hello. We are currently running Exchange 2007 SP1 RU8. I have been trying to run the following basic test example to delete e-mails from our users' mailboxes without any luck: Get-Mailbox -Database Our Database | Export-Mailbox -SubjectKeywords "Virus message" -DeleteContent The command seems to work as there are no errors, but on the mailboxes I'm working with, the e-mails with this subject line are still in the Inbox. I am using the domain admin account, which has full rights to the accounts in question and is a member of all relevant Exchange groups in Active Directory. Any suggestions?

Hi, Have you confirmed that you delete the message successfully? When we delete the message successfully, the StatusMessage should tell us “Messages have been deleted from the source mailbox”, so please make sure you will get that information when you complete the cmdlet. And have you granted the account which perform the task the full mailbox access permission to the source and target mailboxes? Just as here mentioned (mostly in Before You Begin). If no, please grant the full mailbox access permission to the account and try again. If the issue persists after you grant the full mailbox access permission to the account which will perform the task, please logon the OWA and check whether the message we want to delete is still there? And here is more information, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/58fe9f8d-565c-474b-a8e1-90b2ed7c946f I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Serena
