Deleting Administrator Mailbox
i have a mailbox for administrator setup that i've never used. i think this was setup by default. i've had smtp non delivery notices going there and the mailbox now has like 5 million email and is about 23gb. I've tried to use exmerge to delete messages and let it run for 48 hours... but it does not seem to make any progress. Can just delete this mailbox?(how?) Are there things ishould check to make sure it's ok to delete this mailbox?

Create a mailbox for NDR andnavigate to the properties of your SMTP virtual server, then go to the Messages tab and set the Administrator Mailbox to a new ndr mailboxand create a mailbox manager policy to delete mails after 15 days automatically and apply it on this new mailbox for auto management. How to use recipient policies to control mailboxes in Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003 About your Administrator mailbox, yes it is mailbox enable by default when you install first Exchange 2003 server, you can remove the exchange attributes from that temporary and run the mailbox cleanup agent on the mailbox store where admin account mailbox is sitting which will mark it as a red cross and right click on it and purge the mailbox to delete it. Then recreate administrator mailboxon any other mailbox store.
