Deleted mailbox
Is there any way to set up an auto reply message on a deleted mailbox to inform senders that this person is no longer with the company? I'm using exchange 2003.

If the mailbox is deleted, Exchange will send back a NDR mail to the original recipient saying that there is no such user/mailaddress

Hey! That behavior changes with the hotfix described here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;916783 This hotfix allows you to receive messages to a mailbox that belongs to a disabled user. You are also allowed to move the mailbox as well as no NDR will be generated, therefore the only way to inform the sender about the recepient not being able to read the mail would be setting up an auto-reply on that specific mailbox. Here is how to do that: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP012328301033.aspx The above article describes how to set up the out-of-office auto-reply instead of setting it up on the specific mailbox from the server side. This seems to be the most common work-around the hotfix.
