Deleted BackOfficeStorage links?
I loaded up an Exchange 2007 Mailbox Server. I am loading seperate virtual servers for each roll. I then created my own Storage Group on a seperate hard drive and deleted the First Storage Group. Imoved my Public Folders to that same second Hard Drive and finally moved logs to a third hard drive. Browing around I went into IIS Admin and found that \\.\BackOfficeStorage referenced in many places cannot be found. This includes Exadmin, Exchange and Public. Do I recreate these somehow? A share missing? Any guidance would be appriciated. I can't find anything to point me in the right direction.

Hi,This is expected behavior. /Exchange, /ExchWeb and /Public virtual directories are there for redirection according to mailbox location on Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2003 and legacy request or proxying will be handled byDavex.dll orExprox.dll.Check below article for further details on OWA access in coexistence.Outlook Web Access and Exchange 2007, Exchange 2003, and Exchange 2000 Coexistencehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb885041.aspxAmit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

After reading the one article and then reading the many associated articles, some of it is clear but more isn't. I do have an Exchange 2003 server in my domain. Is the public folder association in IIS only on my Client Access Server? Do the Exadmin, Exchange and Public in IIS have a function on the mailbox server? Should I just leave them be or should I be modifying them?

Yes, requests to access mailbox/public folder of Exchange 2003 will be redirected to respective backend 2003 server and no need to modify them.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I agree with Amit. With Exchange Server 2003,we can dir file:///\\.\BackOffoceStorage\domain.com\MBX, you can refer to Managing Exchange Store Resources Regards, Xiu
