Deleted AD account accidentally, where will have the mailbox gone?

If you have set a retention time or left the default (Keep deleted mailboxes for days ..), the mailbox has been disconnected, but is likely not deleted. You will still be able to either restore or recreate that user and reconnect her to the disconnected
mailbox.
Depending on the Exchange version, the procedures are different, but in concept identical.

Yes, you can restore the AD object and then re-connect the mailbox to the account.
