Delay delivery
Hello, I am asked to figure out a way to delay deliver emails with big attachment after working hours.. I do not know if this is possible and if a "generic" account should be created for that purpose or if I could create sort of rule by users. For instance, my identity graig2011 would be able to send email with an attachement bigger than 15 Mo from 8 to 10 pm.. Sorry if I am not that clear but I am even sure that it is possible. I could not find it on Internet except delay the mail delivery through the Oultook interface. Any help would be appreciated. Graig

Thanks Sukh, I have read the post but doesn't really help me to understand how you schedule a send connector or write a script to do so.. Would you know how to proceed on that? Thanks Graig

Hi Are trying to restrict a user or specific domains? How big are the attachments? Just a side note - How many HT do you have? What is the requirement for this? Sukh

Attachement should be about 20-30 Mo. It would concern restricted users.

Hi Are they all going to the same domain. As you mentioned, if you use a generic account, I assume it doesn't matter who the sender from the recipients's view? If it doesn't matter, then you can create a transport rule to redirect message over xKB to another mailbox, then send those message in the evening. Sukh

Hi Graiggoriz, Above gave a good workaround. Per my known, there is no directly method to achieve your target in exchange 2007, unless develop a new transport agent. If you want to do that, some information for you: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa579185.aspx How to write Exchange 2007 transport agents http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/04/431755.aspx Other workaround: I would use a special connector for the special users who want to send the big emals, and use the schedule task to enable it at 8 to 10 pm, and make a test, but I am not sure it meet the target. For example, set-senderconnector -enabled $false/$true, and then use windows task schedule. Or I would use the outlook feature to achieve the target. Regards!
