Delay/Hold outbound email for one or more users
I am hoping someone might be able to help. We are running large clustered Exchange servers of all flavours, and we need to set up a "hold" of outbound mail for one user in particular. This is to ensure the information has been checked before sending. Is there anyway to configure a delay on the outbound mail, or the mail to be placed within a queue so it can be accessed, checked, then released? Many thanks in advance.

I guess that is not possible way to hold the mail to review the content. If you are running on Exchange 2007 then you can set a transport rule with condition, when message is from a suspected user then Blind carbon copy (Bcc) the message to addresses to admin mailbox to review it later on. Is there someway of creating a smtp queue specfically for that user and setting the queue to halt on delivery until it is manually released?

Hi, For Exchange 2007, I think that it is no method to create a queue for an user and set the queue to halt on delivery. Nevertheless, for Exchange 2003, you can create a specific SMTP connector for the users and schedule time to send email through the SMTP connector. Then, you can restrict the specific users to use the connector. You can also Freeze the specific send connector queue. Mike
