Default Global Address List problem - bookmark is not valid
Hi, After someone deleted the default global address list, i recreated it manually using adsiedit. I have double checked the permissions and Authenticated Users have read rights and also open address list. But when i try to create a new profile it errors out: the bookmark is not valid

Could you elaborate on that last part? Do you mean a new Outlook profile? Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

What version of Exchange is this? You should create the default Global Address list within Exchange native tool management not ADSIedit. Create a new GAL as Oliver suggested, you may want to use the following filter you can create new defaule global address list by follow LDAP filter: (& (mailnickname=*) (| (&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(!(homeMDB=*))(!(msExchHomeServerName=*)))(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(|(homeMDB=*)(msExchHomeServerName=*)))(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=contact))(objectCategory=group)(objectCategory=publicFolder)(objectCategory=msExchDynamicDistributionList) ))
