Default EAP not applying to mailboxes created after DC ugrade to Win 2k8R2
Hi All,
So we recently upgraded our DC's from Win2003 to Win2k8R2. Ever since, whenever a mailbox is created in Exchange 2007, only the first matching policy applies. Prior to the upgrade, any mailbox created would have the coresponding created EAP, as well as,
the Default EAP applied.
A couple of specifics:
Exchange 2007 SP1 on Win 2K3 SP2
Domain Func level 2003
2 created EAP's querying company name
When I check Preview on the Default EAP, shows the mailboxes in question. Have applied the EAP using -Verbose and no dice.
Any ideas?

Well, that's just wrong. Only one EAP should be applied, and that
would be the one with the highest priority. That was true even in
Exchange 4.0!

If you preview the default EAP it's going to show you everything with
an alias. It doesn't mean that the default EAP will be applied if
another EAP with a higher priority would also apply to the AD object.

hi,
You can also refer to this link:

Paul has explained the EAP in more detail. I think it can help you better understand the EAP.
But please note: this is not Microsoft's official
documentation, only for reference.
hope can help you

That's what I thought too. I've worked with Exchange before and was always under the impression the first matching EAP would be applied that's it. However, when I started at this new company, the previous admin had the above working, and I can't for the
life of me figure out how. Unfortunately he quit. Once I migrated us over to 2008 R2 DC, that's the only thing that stopped working.
I guess I could just add the common SMTP addresses to both policies. It's best to just keep things simple I guess :)
Thanks for all your help!
