Should Exchange 2007 be installed on dedicated hardware?Or can the same server be used for email and file server roles?

Hi Jason, It can be deployed with some other roles like file server but it is recommended to install it on the separate server.

Jason,Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 should be installed on a dedicated server for best practice. I find it to be better to install the 3 server roles on three separate servers. It leaves you with better scalability. You can use Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/hyperv.aspx) to install all 3 roles on one physical server but on 3 separate virtual servers. The 3 roles are:1 Hub Transport1 Mailbox Role1 Client Access Server Cheers, Juan B. Giusti [MCTS]
