Decommissioning Exchange Bridgehead server
Hello We are running Exchange 2003 SP2. I have a dedicated Exchange bridgehead server (ExchBH1) that needs to be decomm'd since it is no longer needed. There are other newer BH's in the same routing group connectors that ExchBH1 belongs to that will take the mail flow. If I just un-install Exchange from ExchBH1 wil this automatically remove that server from all routing group connectors it belongs to, or do I need to manually amend the routing group connectors first by removing BH1 from any connectors, and only then un-install Exchange from this server to finish the decomm?

Remove the server from any connectors first. The uninstallprocess will not let you continue until it is removed from those connectors.

Yes, it would be better to remove manually from connectors before uninstallationand also check about routing group master, if so move the RGM role to another server.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
