Decommission exchange server
I had an exchange server on the network which was meant for testing and after testing the server was just removed from the network without properly decommissioned; I use adsiedit to remove it from active directory but the database of the server remains on other exchange servers and cannot manually delete it because is dismounted and not online, when I checked at one of the my exchange server it shows that is trying to connect to the removed server and this is how. A route to Mailbox server CN=WSOLDBKHQ,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=DST,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=dst,DC=local could not be found for store CN=Mailbox Database,CN=First Storage Group,CN=InformationStore,CN=WSOLDBKHQ,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=DST,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=dst,DC=local in routing tables with timestamp 6/28/2011 7:56:00 AM. Recipients will not be routed to this store. My question is If i located that route and delete it,what damages is going to cause to my working exchanges??please help

Looks like you have exchagne server 2010. database are no longer under server. databases are now org level if you go to the properties of that databse in adsiedit. there is a attribute that links where all this database has copies. you can remove the mailboxdatabase copy using remove-mailboxdatabasecopy.. if this command fails you can manually delete remove copy from this attribute in config patrition drill down to databases. click on the database you are facing issue with . on work area you will see all the servers where this database has copies select the decomissioned server. go to properties and remove this attribute " MsexchHostServerLink" you might want to delete the "server object" itself under this database DhruvDhruv
