Database Not Mounting after Moving users from 1 DB to another
Hello, i have 2 MBX in CCR. I am in great fix, i moved some users from one DB to another because space was filling up in my disk, so i crate new DB in new drive and move some users in that DB. AFter moving everything was working fine, then i treid to rename the database but it went wrong, then i revert the changes. Now it is in failed state and DB is not mounting. It is giving error while mounting DB Mount-Database : Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified. S pecified database: MAILBOX\IT; Error code: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to m ount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-530) IN event viewer i am getting folllowing Event ID 9518 Error 0xfffffdee starting Storage Group /DC=pk/DC=gov/DC=abc/CN=Configuration/CN=Services/CN=Microsoft Exchange/CN=HEC/CN=Administrative Groups/CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=Servers/CN=Mailbox/CN=InformationStore/CN=IT on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store. Storage Group - Initialization of Jet failed. 9518 Event ID 412 MSExchangeIS (47744) IT: Unable to read the header of logfile F:\Mailbox DB Backup (Extension of D)\IT Department\E0A00000001.log. Error -530. I have treid to move log files, run eseutil /p and /d but no result. I dont have backup of these users unfortunately. Kindly help to recover those users, pleaseee pleasseeeee.........i will be thankful to you. Hasan

If you need immediate help, you should open a ticket with Microsoft Support. Are you running Exchange 2007 with LCR? It looks like you have a corrupt log file. Have you tried restoring from a backup? If you have run ESEUTIL /P then you have probably already lost data. You should never run this except as a last resort. I am running Exchange 2007 with CCR. and i dont have backup of this DB. and yes i have alrady run eseutil /p..............any hope ???? :( Let me tell you that i still have old DB from where i have moved these mailboxes to new DB. new DB is corrupt, old is still there. how i can recover these users from that old DB whcih is not pointing to any users now. with logs its size is 48 GB while the new created DB has 5 GB size.......... You might consider one of the third-party recovery tools, Ontrack Power Controls or Quest Recovery Manager.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi If the log is broken, it is hard for you to recover it again.
