Database Logs in the MDB folder are too many, they have been accumulating for nearly a year, there are nearly 40,000 records, help!
I need to know how to manually delete them, do I need them at this point?

PS I migrated all the previous servers email to this unit about 14 months ago, I am thinking the migration email transactions are part of the problem. I have turned on curcular logging and zero out deleted files, I imagine that will help in a while but not until the system gets current, or should I just wait it out? we are down to 20GB or less free space here. Thanks in advance. Ken

I will suggest you to dismount store for a while and then mount it, While dismount all logs will be comiit into DB. you can use eseutil /mh to see which log is commited into dastabse and can delete all log file older than display log file in /mh output. Here i am surprise , if you have turn on circular logging then why new log get created when you move mailbox in server. If you dont wish to dismount the mailbox store, you can try to take the backup using betest & it will also purge the log files & make a backup copy for you Note - You need to make sure that on the destination you have got the enough space please find the below article for your reference http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/08/25/449684.aspx Exchange Rocks

Hi Ken, Do you use Exchange 2003, right? Backing up Exchange is the preferred method of saving the log files and removing these logs from the disk to free up space. I would suggest you enable circular logging only when you move mailboxes. So you can just use NTbackup to make a full backup of Exchange server, thus the logs will be purged. After finishing backup, please disable the circular logging.
