DST in Exchange 2003 - recurring meeting with no end date are 1 hour late
We've been plagued with DST issues ever since the time change on March 9. We have all the patches installed on both the client and the Exchange server. We've noticed that all recurring meetings with no end date are incorrect during the "new" DST period (March 9 - April 4) are one hour late. After April 4, they're correct again. The time zone move tool doesn't fix this, either.I've seen on non-Microsoft sites that a few people are complaining about this, but I haven't seen anything on Microsoft's site. One person in a non-Microsoft forum recommended to attach an end date to every meeting, stating that this would address the issue. I can have everyone do this, but it sounds like a pretty hokey solution to the problem. Is Microsoft aware of this issue, and if so, what is being done? Any suggestions? Thanks,Eric

Hi, First please try to check the version for CDO.dll from Exchange Server and client computer to see if it has been the latest one. Location on Exchange Server: c:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\cdo.dll Location on Client Computer: c:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\cdo.dll. You can try to apply kb 960445 for Exchange Server and then get the latest update on DST for client computer. 960445 December 2008 cumulative daylight saving time (DST) update for Exchange Server 2003 SP2http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;960445 Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst With the existing Meetings which has affected (because the DST patch was not installed earlier) will have to be corrected by running the Time Zone Data Update Tool. So if the Time Zone Data Update Tool doesnt fix the issue, the only way to resolve it is to open the affected Meeting Item from the Organizers Calendar and manually move it and send updates to the Attendees. How to address time zone changes by using the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931667 Also, Exchange Calendar update Tool is an alternate for TZMOVE and it is something which you can run on the Exchange side instead of Client side (Time Zone Data Update Tool). Please install this tool from the following location: How to address daylight saving time by using the Exchange Calendar Update Toolhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/941018 Besides, you can also try to open outlook with /cleanviews and then check the issue. 1. Start> Run> Outlook /Cleanviews 2. Once Outlook is re-launched, check whether the Recurring Meetings shows up at the right time. Regards, Xiu
