DAG I.P address - two sites
Hi, I am creating two DAGs, each with 3 members. DAG1 has two members in Site A and one member in Site B DAG2 has two members in Site B and one member in Site A Once I have created the DAGs I would like to assign an I.P. My questions are: - Should I give DAG1 and I.P address from prod VLAN in Site A (as DAG1 has active mailboxes in Site A an is the primary DC for those users), and give DAG2 and I.P from prod VLAN in Site B - Should each DAG have an I.P from Site A and one from Site B so that if we have a failover everything still works ? - If I need two I.Ps per DAG than I guess in put something like this in DNS ? DAG1SiteA xx.xx.xx.xx and DAG1SiteB xx.xx.xx.xx ? Thanks for your input

Hi, You need 2 IP addresses per DAG (one IP address per subnet). You don't need to add anything to DNS if your DNS environment support dynamic updates. Leif

Makes sense. Thank you for the reply. If I chose to let dynamic update register the record what name will it pick ? the FQDN of the DAG ?
