Custom NDR message in Exchange 2007
Hi,Do you know if it's possible to send a NDR report to the recipient of a message being too large? I know it sends a bounceback to the sender but I would like to have a copy sent one to the recipient as well. If a 'non-technical' person recieves a bounceback but doesn't know what to do with it, at least the other party is informed of the problem as well. Hope that makes sense. I'm running an Exchange 2007 Server on Server 2008

You might be able to pull this off with a transport rule. I'm not sure offhand.Active Directory, 4th Edition - www.briandesmond.com/ad4/

I agree that setting up a Transport Rule is the way to go. Your Action should be Send Bounce Message To Sender With Enhanced Status Code (specify bounce message and status code). You can then create a Delivery Status Notification (DSN) per: (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996803(EXCHG.80).aspx).Alternatively, you can configure a message size limit for your Exchange organization per: (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124345(EXCHG.80).aspx), Exchange 2007 will generate a NDR 5.3.4 message to the sender. You can then setup Exchange to copy NDR's to a mailbox per: (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb400930(EXCHG.80).aspx).
