Custom From Field.. Transport Rule?
Greetings! We have a 3rd party application (HP Quality Center) that is relaying mail to an Exchange 2003 SMTP relay.. I am trying to update the relay to Exchange 2007 HT; however, there is a formatting issue with the from field.2003 server shows from field as:user@FQDNof2003serverHowever, the Exchange 2007 HT server shows from field as:user@ipaddressofHTVIPThe latter is causing outlook to flag the messages as spam.Rather than use safe senders.. I would like to get the Exchange 2007 HT server to display the from field as user@company.comThis almost seems like an internal rDNS issue, however, I am not entirely sure. Ideas?

If you want to use a transport rule, you can try testing for that IP address string (When the From address contains spcific words, or patterns) , and then set the From: header to whatever you want it to say (set Header with value).

If it was me I'd actually have the transport rule set the SCL to -1. That will bypass scanning all together.Active Directory, 4th Edition - www.briandesmond.com/ad4/
