Cross-forest availability service in Exchange 2010.
Hello, We are using the option Configure the Availability Service for Cross-Forest Topologies using Service Account(The two forests have a two-way trust). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125182.aspx Query: When run the step Add-AvailabilityAddressSpace -ForestName abc.com -AccessMethod PerUserFB -UseServiceAccount $true -verbose Do we have to enable or create a separate group in AD and have all the users under it who we plan to share to share the free-busy? If yes where do we mention the group name. From http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124122.aspx AccessMethod Required Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Directory.SystemConfiguration.AvailabilityAccessMethod The AccessMethodparameter, when assigned the PerUserFB value, causes the command to access the free/busy data in the defined per-user free/busy proxy account or group, or in the All Exchange Servers group. The PerUserFB value requires trust between the two forests. You must use either the UseServiceAccount parameter or Credentials parameter. Use the OrgWideFB value to access the free/busy data in the per-user free/busy proxy account or group in the target forest. You must use either the UseServiceAccountparameter or Credentialsparameter. Use the PublicFolder value to access free/busy data on servers running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The Exchange Inter-Organization Replication tool must be running between the two forests. I understand we require GALsync. We have come-up with a script to sync users across the two forests. My query is related to -AccessMethod PerUserFB -UseServiceAccount $true -verbose Do we have add all the users in a separate group or do any configuration? Get-ClientAccessServer | Add-AdPermission -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights "ms-exch-epi-token-serialization" -User "abc\Exchange Servers". I have followed the MS KBs and setup the sharing but when I goto xyz.com amd try to view the free-busy status of an user in abc.com I get user unable to reach the server 5016 code. I just want to know if I'm missing something in the configuration. Thanks, Sony SONY ABRAHAM
