Creating virtual folders in Outlook 2010

HI

In Outlook 2010, there is a function, similar to the libraries of Windows 7, which creates virtual folders in which to put the physical folders, created between the various POP3 accounts, which contain E-Mails? If so, how do I create these virtual folders?

THANKS

Dear all,

When I read this question, it looks to me this is not Office 2010 stuff! ;) I'm using this for years as I always switch to the Favorites pane (in stead of email/folders). In that I created some headings (folders, mailboxes, archive) and underneath I added my shortcuts to the physical folders I'm using (very) often.

Now I rarely I have to browse through my folder structure (BTW: which is very flat) or mailboxes.

Is this what you're looking for?

Kind regards (and Happy New Year),

Arj

Rightclicking an entry provides me the following options:

Rename Group

Delete Group

New Shortcut Group (aka Folder)

New Shortcut.

Does this make sense? ;)

In other words, how do I create groups of folders in Outlook 2010 so that, by clicking on a group, I displayed all the messages in the folders associated with this group?

In other words, I would like to create virtual folders to be associated with some physical folders of some POP3 account so that, by clicking on one of these virtual folders, all e-mail, saved in those physical folders, are displayed (a bit like it is for libraries of Windows 7 with their associated physical folders). Now, you understand?

I know this is a few years old, but it popped up on a search I just made so thought this might help others as well...

I think what you may be looking for are Search Folders.  Search Folders are virtual folders that you can set up rules for to display what you want to see in that folder.  To quote the support.office.com page relating to this (support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-a-Search-Folder-961e78c8-9be5-48b5-b8b1-2c7beebe5b25):

"A Search Folder is a virtual folder that provides a view of all e-mail items that match specific search criteria. For example, the Unread Mail Search Folder allows you to view all unread messages from one location even though the messages may be located in different Mail folders."
