Creating a User in AD with a mailbox is slow to show in Exchange 2007
Hello Everyone, We have a odd issue with creating a User in Active Directory and having it create an email box. When we create a user from our domain controller we have the create an email box option selected as well. The "problem" we are seeing is that it take a very long time for the mailbox to show up in Exchange 2007, 1-2hrs+. We have a few domain controllers and 2 Exchange servers, when we create the email box we choose the Main Email server and its first storage group. I guess the question I am asking is: Is there a reason why it takes a very long time to replicate over to the Exchange Server when a user is created and could it be sped up? -Thank You RalphHerp Derp derp

THe Exchange mgmt tools are installed on a DC? What if you create the mailbox from the actual Exchange Server itself? ( Note that AD replication issues arent "Exchange" issues per se) What DC is Exchange using? What DCs are listed in app log event 2080?

Yes, The Exchange tools are installed. If we create the Mailbox from the Exchange server the mailbox shows up just fine. If this is an AD issue I apologize for the post in the wrong forum.Herp Derp derp

This is what I see, We are creating from dsrv006 with the tools installed. csrv006.Mysite.local CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 dcs01.partners.Mysite.local CD- 1 6 6 0 0 0 1 6 1 Out-of-site: dsrv006.Mysite.local CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 lsrv002.Mysite.local CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 ldc01.Mysite.local CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1 Herp Derp derp

After you create the mailbox try to force replicate AD and see if that makes a difference so you can determine if it's an AD replication issue. repadmin /syncall dsrv006 dc=contoso,dc=com /d /e /aJames Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Any errors on the DCs? Any issues should manifest itself in other ways as well, not just with Exchange. You may want to pose this in the Server FOrums as well: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/windowsserver/

So are lsrv002.Mysite.local and ldc01.Mysite.local. That delay is almost certainly due to inter-site replication. What's unknown is how the site links were created and what the replication schedules are. I'm guessing the KCC wasn't what was used to create the replication toplogy, or the three out-of-site DCs are all in their own sites and replication is being done serially from dc1->dc2->dc3->dc4. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Thanks everyone for your input. Looks like someone set the time between replications for 6 hours. I changed it to a more frequent interval and its all showing up good. Again, Thanks Everyone -RalphHerp Derp derp
